About CSV Viewer & Editor
CSV (Comma-Separated Values) is the universal format for tabular data — spreadsheets, database exports, analytics reports, and data pipelines all use it. But opening a CSV file usually requires Excel, Google Sheets, or a dedicated app. For quick viewing, editing, sorting, or converting a CSV, that is overkill. This tool displays any CSV file as an editable table directly in your browser: click cells to edit, add or remove rows and columns, sort by any column, search/filter rows, and export back to CSV or convert to JSON. It handles custom delimiters (comma, semicolon, tab, pipe), quoted fields with embedded commas/newlines, and BOM characters. Everything is local — your data is never uploaded.
How It Works
- Paste CSV text or upload a .csv file.
- The CSV is parsed and displayed as an editable table.
- Click any cell to edit it inline.
- Add/remove rows and columns with toolbar buttons.
- Sort by clicking a column header; search with the filter box.
- Export to CSV or JSON with one click.

💡 Advanced Tips & Pro Insights
- ▸Auto-detect delimiter works for comma, semicolon, tab, and pipe. If it guesses wrong, choose manually from the dropdown.
- ▸For European CSVs (often semicolon-delimited because commas are decimal separators), pick "Semicolon" manually.
- ▸Fields containing commas, quotes, or newlines should be wrapped in double quotes ("value, with, commas"). This tool handles this correctly.
- ▸For very large CSVs (100k+ rows), performance depends on browser memory. Consider loading a subset or splitting the file.
- ▸Header toggle: if your CSV has column names in the first row, keep it enabled. If not, disable it and columns become "Column 1", "Column 2", etc.
